Neo Radio is now a show and a podcast. 

History of Neo Radio

Back in 2016, we launched a sister radio station, “Neo Radio” that played new music by new artists, whose musical inspiration came from the ’80s. As if it was ‘NEW’ 80s music… and we had a great time over 5 years.

Neo Radio was run by the same team behind Retro Hit Radio and gained a great listener base. Neo Radio had a chart show ‘Neo Chart’ and even carried radio shows that were all about this music scene, firstly with ‘Forever Synth’, and then once that show ended, we rang up the boys at ‘The State of Synth‘ (TSOS) who jumped at the chance for more radio listeners.

December 2021: Neo Radio finished up however not too long afterward we thought The State of Synth was too good a show to let go, so we added their show to Retro Hit Radio, into the 10pm Sunday slot.

When the TSOS guys take their seasonal break, and due to the strong support for the show from our listeners, we thought it would be a fun idea to bring Neo Radio back, as a show on Retro Hit Radio.

Now: Neo Radio brings you exactly what we used to do – play the absolute cream of new synthwave and synthpop singles with a focus on NZ and Australia as well as the classic Neo Radio sound with our huge back catalogue. It is also available as a Podcast, check it out!
