Yacht Rock is spinning on air this summer on Retro Hit Radio! Listen through the day for the captains spot plays or listen each Sunday at 6am or 6pm through summer for ” SUMMER SAILIN’ ” .. an hour of certified Yacht Rock.

“Yacht Rock” was coined by a web series in the mid 2000’s written, directed, and produced by J. D. Ryznar, co-produced by David Lyons and Hunter D. Stair. Since then they hosted the Beyond Yacht Rock Podcast (which we played for a number of years), they went onto creating a Dischord channel for superfans – and lovingly published the Yachtski Scale available to everyone as the reference point for the Yacht Rock genre.

More recently, they were featured on the HBO series Yacht Rock: A Dockumentary  watch the trailer

Songs are scored according to a number of factors that make them “yachty” so at any time you can find out what songs are Yacht Rock songs. You can either head to yachtrock.com or yachtornyacht.com
