For the first time in 20 years Split Enz have reunited with original members Tim Finn, Eddie Raynor, Noel Crombie and Neil Finn plus Matt Eccles on drums and James Milne on bass, on the Forever Enz tour in Australia and New Zealand.
The tour will celebrate the group’s extraordinary catalogue, from the theatrical brilliance of Mental Notes and Dizrythmia, through the new-wave perfection of True Colours, Waiata, and Time and Tide. Expect hits like “I See Red”, ‘I Got You,’ ‘Six Months in a Leaky Boat,’ ‘Message to My Girl,’ and plenty of classic pop songs that defined a generation.
“Aotearoa, rugged individual!” We’re looking forward to climbing into our new Noel Crombie suits and seeing you all soon. The songs are sounding shiny and new…”if music be the food of love, Split Enz are the silverware!” – Tim Finn
Formed in New Zealand in 1972 before relocating to Australia in 1975, Split Enz is widely regarded as one of the most important antipodean groups of the last 5 decades. The band’s last live concert in New Zealand was on March 2008 at Vector Arena (now called Spark Arena) . Split Enz were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2005.
During their recording career Split Enz released a string of era-defining hits across the late ’70s and early ’80s including I Got You, I See Red, Message To My Girl, Six Months In A Leaky Boat, History Never Repeats, One Step Ahead, and so many more. Their Number 1, 1980 album release, “True Colours”, achieved multiple-platinum status in NZ and was certified 5 x platinum in Australia, selling over 250,000 copies.
If you don’t book tickets, you’ll regret it. You gotta see Split Enz live!
