Retro Hit Radio is no longer available on the Get Me Radio platform.

We have no control over how third party platforms operate, so due to the following you will not be able to listen to us on their platform.

Here's why. This is from an email we received from Get Me Radio:

Since the creation of the Get Me Radio! platform in 2020 we’ve seen a huge amount of growth in both the number of stations on the platform and also the volume of listeners choosing to listen to your stations via our platform. We now have thousands of stations on the platform and over a million monthly listeners tuning in from all around the globe.

We’ve been happy to continue offering the platform to both Radio Stations and listeners free of charge while the operational and support costs were being covered by other businesses within our group, but we have now reached a point of growth where this situation is unfortunately no longer possible. In order to continue supporting the growth, operational and support costs and further development of the platform, we will soon be introducing a small charge to Radio Stations to support the platform.

This decision has not been made lightly and we have considered a number of options such as charging listeners a monthly subscription fee, introducing adverts and other revenue options but we’ve ultimately opted for a small monthly charge to the Radio Stations to cover the costs of additional support staff, operational costs and further development of the platform. 100% of the revenue will be reinvested into the platform in the form of improved support and further development of existing and future apps to ensure your stations reach an even wider audience.

I understand that this email will probably not be met positively, let’s be honest, no-one wants to start paying for something that has been free for so long. The pricing has been carefully considered and set in order to cover the immediate requirements to cover operational costs (servers and infrastructure), additional dedicated support team members and also future development costs.

The introductory charge will be £3.95 (or $5.00 or €4.50) per month and will be valid until the end of the introductory period (15th June 2024) and will remain the same for the duration your station is listed on our platform.

I hope that you are able to continue supporting us so that we can continue developing the platform and, in turn, attract more listeners to your Radio Station.

Unfortunately, we cannot support an overseas commercial company that cannot support itself. Therefore we have removed our station from the Get Me Radio platform.
